The 5th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves hosted by UNESCO will take place in Hangzhou on September 22-25. The event is held in Asia for the first time. It is expected to attract more than 4,000 representatives from nearly 150 countries all over the world, including about 100 overseas representatives.

The event will review the strategies of the Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme for the next decade, and release Hangzhou Declaration.
China will share its experience in ecological construction, such as endangered species protection, ecological monitoring network construction, and application of intelligent identification technology for species. The event will gather global wisdom, deepen cooperation in ecological governance, and promote construction of global ecological civilization.
