Xixi Silver-haired Mall, the first lifestyle experience center for seniors’ health and wellness in Xihu District, was unveiled. It is a venture of Xihu Construction Investment Group.

The mall is not only an innovative space loaded with services for elders but also a “future elderly care experience hub” that integrates high technologies such as AI, the IoT, and smart hardware. It brings together healthcare, social activities, smart technology, wellness programs, and retail services, featuring six themed zones with 13 specialized sections, offering access to over 100 services and 1,000 products available for trial or purchase.

The Tech Showcase on the first floor presents companion robots, sleep-inducing brainwave devices, and smart exoskeletons - all ready to demo. The buzz centers on Xihu Wellness Group’s upcoming first-generation carebot.

Moving beyond companionship, this next-gen robot delivers both emergency response and daily living support. It instantly alerts both family and staff during crises, while its brain-computer interface lets bedridden users control the robot for everyday tasks.

Upstairs, the gamified fitness zone turns workouts into play. What looks like a gaming controller ball actually trains hand-eye coordination and cognitive reflexes.

Since most seniors prefer aging home, how can homes become smarter and safer? The “Age-Friendly Living” demo area will offer inspirations.

Smartness applies in bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. Voice-controlled assistants adjust lighting, height-adjustable countertops adapt to users, and sensor-equipped bathrooms feature germ-resistant grips. These solutions work for new constructions or can be retrofitted into existing homes - proving that safety upgrades don’t require major renovations.

The Silver-haired Mall represents a shift in senior care for Xihu District - from traditional support to tech-empowered living. “We are using technology not just to add years to life but to add life to those years. Here, AI meets heart,” shares the Mall’s project officer.
